You will find Scarlet in the pedigree of all of our present day newfs. She was an extremely submissive girl to people, but ruled as queen with the other newfs. In fact she was so soft with people that it was almost an impossibility to show her as the smallest tug on the lead would have her flipping over on her back.

She loved to hunt and would bring mice in the house and drop them at our feet. Scarlet had heavy bone and a thick coat and has passed on her soundness to the following generations. Scarlet gave us three very small litters and we kept one from each of her three litters.
